In the phrase, He knows what he is at. should the word Cúram be in the ns or gs.
e.g. Tá fíos a chúraim aige vs Tá fíos a chúram aige

I'm a little confused as i wrote down ,
Tá fíos a chúraim aige
and then
Tá fíos mo chúram agamsa

Sorry! Wasn't thinking straight!

It's a good question. It sounds like the gs would be used. There are examples of the gs operating despite another intervening particle like that

Given the state of the gs, tho, I would say you'd hear either

Damn i dont know why i keep writing fios as fíos.

I think I have heard both, thats whats adding to my confusion .
Thanks for the link Labhrás, but i could see the example in it though which indicates the use of gs.

Youre completely right , there are one or two words like that for which some unexplained reason i just like to stick a fada in when writing

Preposition / 8:

Quote:
8 PREPOSITION referring to involvement in sth
what are you about? cad atá ar siúl agat?, cad é atá fút?
be careful what you're about! seachain cad atá á dhéanamh agat!
he knows what he's about tá a fhios aige cad atá á dhéanamh aige, tá fios a ghnó aige,
tá fios a chúraim aige

be quick about it! déan deifir leis!, brostaigh ort leis!
