Yes, "scaoil leis" is to let it go.
"scaoil é" has a different meaning - untie it. Like to untie a knot or a rope etc.

Lig dó titim / Lig cead dó titim - Let it fall.
Letting go or letting it fall is not the same as bounce.
The dictionary has "preab". I can't think of another word at the moment other than the Conamara bounsáil.
I'd be more likely to say - hit it against the wall/floor etc (if it is bouncable it will do that)
