I have Type 1 diabetes and have a medical alert tattoo on my forearm. I would like to get a translation for "Swallow your Pride" in Irish Gaelic to remind myself not to be bullheaded about my disease.

I did find something on what you guys call the "other site"; which is kind of funny because that is what we call the "dark side" on the Jeep forum I belong to.

"Ol deoch ar do naire!"

I do want to kind of be a prick to myself when it is said, so if there is a way to put anger into it I would appreciate the help.

Thank you in advance!

Hi, and welcome to the Irish Language Forum.

Ól deoch ar do náire ! "Swallow your pride"

This does indeed appear to be the idiom you are after. Note the accent marks, though. These are part and parcel of the language and can't be omitted.

Perhaps there might be other idioms that someone knows?

Thank you for the welcome and the reply. :)

I didn't know how to put the accent marks in but did know that they were needed.

Other idioms? That may be interesting...

Thank you for the confirmation without the B.S. of a competing site thing as well!!
