I visited there a couple of days ago, and was just appalled at the mess they've made of it.

They also very proudly unveiled the "Word of the Day" on Facebook...only to take it down when just about every Irish speaker in the world started laughing at them. They then deleted every correction of it on their page and posted a ridiculous announcement about how "a glitch" had caused "an incorrect translation" (as if the bloody thing hasn't been churning out incorrect translations for close to a year!)

They're also apparently still deleting every post on the forum that links to a different Irish language site...something that was never done in all my years there. Even their new regulars are beginning to complain about that.

What a bunch of tools!

It must be sad for so many of ye who put years of work into the old site, to see it in such a state. Where its translations are worse that Google translate and they have to change the design in order to make it more difficult to see the 0 replies to threads littered everywhere. Well ye did warn them! But I have to say the feeling is bitter sweet a, a Pyrrhic victory!

But ye are creating a brilliant forum here now and its clear that the forum is growing day by day with new member and people with translations for us to tease out! and also ye are developing some great learning resources as well from Whombat, Lon Dubh and Braoin etc...

I agree. This new site is moving on in fine fettle and it's so well laid out

Yeah, 5k posts over probably a year and a half (50k for Redwolf!), such a waste.

It was an effort to post here after it got set up (it felt forced), but now it's well established and we're essentially back to normal (though of a higher quality I would like to think).

Yeah. I wish my name weren't on it. All I did was compile the translations and write a bit of copy for each.

There hasn't been a post there in over a week as well! The admin keeps posting "tests" every now and again, maybe to check to see if its possible to post after they changed the layout. But I suspect they're wondering why nobody has posted. :darklaugh:
