Dia daoibh, i decided to start a fresh question concerning the Leinster dialect here (the other post was getting a tad heated). To start, cheers for the reply An Lon Dubh, ill definitely hav to order my copy now.

As far as reviving is concerned, (im not familiar with the process of reviving a dialect/language) but is there actually enough info out there to do such a thing or woud it be bits nd pieces and have to borrow heavily from other dialects? Alllllllso, if there is, is it a case of simply., "right we know they said "Canas 'tá tú?" so we will just say that". Or is it more a case of that is a starting point and it would have to be tinkered with, spelling wise and the likes? Forgive my ignorance, but i do find it all very interesting.

'maith agaibh

if I had to revive a dialect, I would:
- try to learn everything about it (everything that is available)
- try to become fluent in it
- teach it to others (in night classes etc)
- maybe write a teach-yourself book, a grammar book, a dictionary... so that other people can learn it

(actually that's exactly what I'm doing with my Breton dialect; it hasn't disappeared, but it's spoken only by old people)

What area is your dialect of Breton from Lughaidh?
