Help with some island names

But the names you are phoneticising are based upon English language phonetics, if the islanders are irish speakers, then they would phoneticise them based on their own pronunciation. Unless your saying they are English speakers/writers too

I think either Inis na gCaorach or Inis Caorach would work, but not Inis Caoirigh because you need a genitive plural.

The islanders are bilingual (speaking Irish and English) but are literate in English only. I do want the name phoneticized using the Irish pronunciation since they are Irish speakers, though.

Okay, this was what I was wondering about; the cases still confuse me sometimes.

Would someone be able to give Connemara pronunciations for Inis na gCaorach and Inis Caorach?

I've been doing more tooling around on the internet and I'm now really leaning toward Sheep Island (or Island of the Sheep). I've already had a good way to tie the name into the Island's background. Anyway, I also found there is a Inishkeeragh Island off the coast of Donegal. So with that in mind, I'm wondering if I could use the plural form of sheep just so it would differ? What do you think?

"Caorach" IS plural. It's the genitive plural, which is what you need in this case.

I'd still go with "Inis na gCaorach."

Inis na gCaorach Inishnagweeragh or Inishnageeragh

(Based on gaoth, which rhymes with the cao in caorach, and appears as both "gwee" (Gweedore, Gweesalia) and "gee" in anglicisations in the West and North of Ireland.)
