Some notes: -- A còineachan is a baby stolen by the faeries. -- Not all of the "gu'n" expressions are equivalent to "gun" (= gan), because gu'n/gun can mean a number of things, and even be just a filler sound. -- The verb goir is to crow like a cock, so goiridh-òg-o could be a form of what in English is "cock-a-doodle-do" (in French, cocorico?).
