Why is "violet" "sail-chuach"? What does this mean? Maybe sail- is "willow"? And "cuach"? This could be cuckoo or goblet. Is it "willow goblet"?

sail3, f. (gs. ~e). 1. Dirt, dross, impurity. ~ chnis, scurf, dandruff. ~ chluaise, ear-wax. ~ chaorach, wool-grease. ~ mhiotail, (metal) dross. 2. Stain, defilement. ~ pheaca, stain of sin. 3. ~ chuach, chuaiche = SAILCHUACH.

So, sail = kind of dirt (compare: salach = dirty),

sail chuach = dirt of cuckoos
