I hope that was mostly right. I'm really excited to keep learning so any corrections are welcomed! Anyway, there is this phrase that I really love that I was hoping to get translated, perhaps for a tattoo. It's from the Eddie Vedder song "Guaranteed" and it goes:

"On bended knee is no way to be free"

...If anyone could give me a translation of that it would be awesome. Or if anyone knew any native Irish proverbs with a similar sentiment that would also be appreciated.

The only proverb I found meant the opposite:

Is fearr lúbadh ná briseadh. "Tis better to bend than to break."

Perhaps:

Níl tú gan srian agus tú ar do ghlúine "You are not free (lit, "without restraint") while you are on your knees."
