In this performance of Auld Lang Syne, starting about 2:15, a verse and chorus are sung in what sounds like Irish. I can't locate lyrics for it. After reading this thread ( viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4764 ) I hoped that Tíogar had posted the matching lyrics, but I located the thread and it isn't the same verse, I guess. Can anyone tell which verse is being sung in Irish and post the transcript?

I think that's Scots Gaelic.
All I can make out fairly clearly is: "tarnì??? sinn an cupàn còir" "we'll take the cup of kindness"

Ah, thanks. I may have been misled -- I was initially searching for Scots Gaelic, as that would make more sense at a Scots trad music event. But at some point along the way, the idea was put into my head that there is no such thing as Scottish Gaelic, and I must have been hearing Irish. I'll retry searching for a Scots version in the meantime, thanks!

Sorry, can't edit yet. I found this book of Scots Gaelic translations of the works of Robert Burns, but the one for Auld Lang Syne doesn't seem to match up with the performance in the video. https://openlibrary.org/works/OL765989W ... 00burnuoft

I also found "Songs and Poems of Robert Burns (Scots Gaelic Edition)", 2009, but I still need to get into a full copy of it and see what I can find. I'm on a mission now so I'll report back, lol.
