Hi guys I was looking for some help with a tattoo idea I've wanted to awhile now. I was hoping to get something along the lines of a word for "alive". I've seen a lot of different answers to it and I'm not sure which is the best way to do it (written grammar was always my weak spot in class). What seemed to work was something along the lines of "Bí Beo". Can anyone tell me if that'd work, or if there's a better way?
If you mean the imperative/command form "Be alive!", then "
Bí beo!" works.
If you mean just the adverbial form "alive", as in "He's alive", then "
Beo" by itself is enough.
Looks good. There's also "Bheith i do bheatha", to be alive, which would end up as
"Bí i do bheatha." (if it's somewhat of a command to others to be alive) or
"Táim i mo bheatha" > literally, I'm in my living, i.e. I'm alive. Maybe just "i mo bheatha" is good enough in this case as "I am . . ." is understood.
