So translation 1 & 3 are good...

#2, the English text is:

"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I die, you are forgiven. If I live, I will kill you."

Knowing that "fellow man" doesn't specifically mean a *man*, rather a person, and knowing that the act of forgiving "will be",

What should the final, proper translation be?

- You've changed 'any man' to 'whoever', so I'm changing 'aon duine' to 'an té'.

- I agree with Bríd Mhór that it's not 'appeal' in the sense of getting a legal ruling reversed. The translation I''m giving means ' have recourse to the law'.

An té a théann i muinín an dlí i gcoinne duine eile, is amadán nó cladhaire é. An té nach féidir leis aire a thabhairt dó féin gan an dlí sin, is amadán chomh maith le cladhaire é. Mar dearfaidh fear gortaithe lena ionsaitheoir, "Má fhaighim bás, maithfear duit. Má mhairim, maróidh mé thú".

Awesome. Thank you. Anyone care to dispute or verify this translation, as per the ' 3 to agree' ?

Thank you guys for all your help translating these quotes for my tattoos. I already got my rib tattoo done, I'm working on my arm tattoo now, and next is my throat tattoo. I really appreciate all your help and I will continue to come to you guys for future translations.
