Hi Everyone,
I am doing an art project on light. Could people please reply with words that reference light in any way and the meaning? Or if anyone knows of any stories or history or folklore regarding the Irish people and light.

I would be very appreciative.

Kind regards,
Marie

The basic word for light in Irish is solas. The word geal means "bright", and is used in several different ways, both in its literal sense and figuratively to mean such things as "white" and even "happy" (for which there are also more customary words), as well as in some other words, such as the word for moon, which is gealach.
