Good Day
I discovered this forum from the book "The Irish Gaelic Tattoo Handbook" by Audrey Nickel
I am currently having a full sleeve done and wanted to incorporate some phrases...and was hoping for some help..especially after reading the book and learning of some of the mistakes that can be made....capitalization, phrasing, etc
one phrase I found on a site "The Irish Store" is :
"WHAT IS ASSUMED IS OFTEN WRONG"
Ní mar a shíltear a bhítear.bmcfarlane wrote:
the second I would appreciate your help with is:
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.
1 Corantaigh 16:13.13 (An Bíobla Naofa, 1981):
13
Bígí ag faire agus seasaigí fód an chreidimh; bígí cróga calma. 14
Gach ní dá ndéanann sibh, déanaigí le grá é.I can third these (assuming CaoimhínSF was seconding them?).
Being a quote, I'd leave the Bible quote in the plural, but Labhrás has a point and his singular version looks correct to me.
