Thank you to all who helped so far. I’ve added the first part. Honestly and simply grateful.

Hey everybody,

So, I realize this may fall under the “beggars can’t be choosers” category...and I mean no disrespect, nor do I want to come across as whining or ungrateful.

As fate would have it I will have two weeks off of work. Gotta love surgery recovery. So, I’ll have lots of time to work on the finishing touches of the book.

I was hoping to add some more Gaelic to it in the next few weeks. I realize it’s a big “ask”. But I feel like princess Leah in Star Wars: help me...you’re my only hope. Is there any way to maybe, possibly, hopefully get some translations?

I know it takes time. And I am absolutely 100% grateful for all the work—diligent work—so far.

Any help is appreciated.

“Burdened in death,
burdened in life;
come back to us,
sojourner of the realms
and allow my healing touch.
Compassion upon your soul,
courage to your heart.
Your body now whole
your soul more complete,
much more life
in this body lives,
many more lives to gain.
Love cannot kill earthly pain
nor extinguish, nor diminish,
but love overcomes death’s final blow;
love overcomes such suffering
through lives in death sacrificed.
Through this sacrifice,
I pray for healing
to liberate the soul,
and bring life to the living—
to bring life to those yet dead;
your body will be healed,
your scars in time shall fade;
Death owns no victory over you,
death, our lives, does not define.”

“No love is more powerful
than that of a life for other’s given.”

Anyone able to make a start on this?

Breandán,

Would you be willing? Like I have said, to anyone and everyone who has helped...every act of help along the way is deeply appreciated.

This is the actual quote from John 15:13
Níl grá ag aon duine níos mó ná seo go dtabharfaidh duine a anam ar son a chairde.
No greater love has anyone than this that a person will give their life for the sake of their friends.

Based on that here’s an idea

Níl grá níos tréise ann ná an t-anam sin a thugtar ar son duine eile.
There exists no stronger love than that life that is given for another.

MacBoo,

Thank you! Looks great. I'm going to put it in the book. I appreciate the help. It sounds cheesy to keep saying how grateful I am. But this has been a long journey and the end is getting closer; every little bit of help is a huge bit of help to me.

Thanks

Le hualach an bháis
agus le hualach an tsaoil
tar ar ais chugainn
taréis do chamchuairt ar an ríocht
agus lig cead do mo lámh thú a leigheas.

Go raibh trócaire ar d’anam,
agus misneach i do chroí.
Tá do cholainn anois iomlán,
agus tá d’anam anois slán
Tá go leor brí agus beocht sa gcolainn seo fós,
agus tuilleadh le theacht.

Ní mharóidh ná ní thabharfaidh grá faoiseamh ón bpian,
ach beidh an bua ag an ngrá ar an mbás sa deire.
Bíonn an bua ag an ngrá ar an bhfulaingt
trí íobairt an bháis.
Is tríd an íobairt seo a ghuím le leigheas a fháil
agus m’anam a shlánú,
agus beocht a thabhairt ar ais do na mairbh.
Beidh do cholainn leigheasta,
taréis píosa tréigfidh (sp?) do choilm.
Ní bheidh an bua ag an mbás ort.
Ní hé an bás a sainaíonn (sp?)ár saol.

Níl aon ghrá níos treise ná do bheatha a thabhairt ar shon duine eile.

Now Breandán work your poetic magic on it. :)
Not a bad job, if I say so myself, but I know some spellings are probably not correct and I'm shite at poetry rhyming.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, computer troubles.

Amazing...as always. And the timing is perfect. I've also joined the computer problem crowd. I needed to see this. Thank you.

I will post the next installment in a few days, if that's ok.

Again...and can not say it enough. So thankful.

Somebody needs to give it a check first. We say on this forum that 3 need to agree on translations.
