I'm writing a short article on Irish surnames and want to get things right.
As far as I know, ó (ua) means 'grandchild' or 'descendant'. My question is - are these archaic forms? (Wiktionary marks them as such, but I want to make sure.) Are they currently used anywhere outside surnames and set expressions?
