One additional piece of advice I would give to any learner would be to try to avoid forums where negativity appears to be the rule of the day by would-be experts and "purists". The grammatical form of any given language is not intrinsic to the brain, and unsupervised learning leads to 'good enough' strategies, but rarely perfection. It is hardly negativity to make a simple point. After all, if it were as simple as speak and language come out of someone, we could re-create any language there has ever been, or ever will, or could (assuming similar human brains and bodies)
