Dia daoibh from Tajikistan

It's been a while since I've had a question, because I've gotten into the horribly irresponsible habit of not progressing with Irish and spending my precious after-work time on the BBC website. I read a fascinating article (and the study linked to it) about how Irish was dying rapidly in the Gaeltacht and tried to find some other news related to the Irish language. I wondered if anyone could recommend any source of news related to the Irish language that are in English? Or in Irish really either since google translate creates an understandable albeit horrendous translation of Irish.

I also wanted to ask a quick question. In Rosetta Stone we learned all about some common countries and sentences like, "Táim i mo chónaí sna Stáit Aontaithe" or "Is as an bhFrainc mé" but for whatever reason they didn't teach us about Tajikistan! ;) I have no idea whether there should be an article with the word Táidsíceastáin or not!! Is it "Táim i mo chónaí sa Táidsíceastáin" or "Táim i mo chónaí i dTáidsíceastáin"? I guess I could just say, "Táim i mo chónaí i gCúlób" but I doubt people are familiar with Kulob even if it is one of the most important cities of this country...

Go raibh maith agaibh in advance (PS could someone tell me how to say this, too? hehe)

You might like to know that there's an Irish-Russian dictionary (without fadas) on Babylon called Squires, compiled by Alexei Chibakov and Garry Bannister, who spent some time teaching in Moscow, has also complied an Irish-Russian dictionary.

I'm actually an American ESL teacher in Tajikistan, not actually from Tajikistan. I speak Tajik/Persian fluently but don't have a word of Russian. But thankfully there are plenty of resources for English speakers! If I meet any locals who are interested and old enough to have been around when Russian was taught I'll pass it along. I've tried to get people here interested in Irish (even though since I work at an American Cultural Center payed for by the US government I am technically not supposed to encourage languages other than English and Native American languages) but I always lose them when they hear that Irish people usually also speak English. I would think it would strike a cord with them since before the Civil War that scared away all of the Russians there were places in this country where nobody spoke Tajik anymore also. But I guess they're just not cool enough for Irish. bahahaha not like I have much myself XD
