Hey there,

How would you translate "booby trap" into Irish (if you had to).

De Bhaldraithe gives "bobghaiste", but I'm not certain if any Irish speaker would understand this. Would you?

Karen.

I've never heard the Irish for it. In Conamara we use "trap" for regular traps. But not pronounced like in English of course.

If you use ""bobghaiste" people will be able to look it up in a dictionary, so there is no ambiguity.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.
