Irish can be much more noun-oriented than verb-oriented, especially in the area of emotions, but that leads to forms which can seem very expressive or even poetic when translated into English. So, to say that you love someone, one usually says, for example, Tá grá agam di ("I have love for her") [literally: "There is love at me for her", where the "there is ... at me" part is simply the way to say "I have" in Irish] or Tá grá agam uirthi [literally: "There is love at me on her"].

Other emotions are handled in a similar way. For example, instead of saying, "I'm afraid", one says Tá eagla orm ("There is fear on me").

"Sult" means "pleasure/enjoyment." "Ceol" means "music." I would say it's a more poetic way of saying the same thing.

* Edited to add, I just noticed that I hadn't given the literal translation for "bain sult as an saol." I've gone back and corrected that. Basically, though, they're the same sentence, with "music" (ceol) used instead of "sult" (pleasure/enjoyment).
