I would love to have a tattoo that represents inner strength and my Irish roots. I am incorporating a Celtic bull with a quote. Any inner strength quote ideas would be appreciated. I also wonder what the best interpretation of the word "strength" would be for me. I would love to have a whole quote but I just haven't found a good one in English yet.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!

If you're thinking of a single word for "strength," I'd use "Neart."

Unfortunately, the only "strength" quote I can think of off the top of my head is:

An té nach bhfuil láidir, ní foláir dó bheith glic: The one who isn't strong had better be clever

Not exactly what you're looking for! But maybe someone else can think of something.

I like: "Ní neart go cur le chéile" = "There is no strength without unity" or "Unity is strength". However, I don't think it's what you are looking for. :/

Yeah, those two quotes aren't really what I'm looking for. And I've heard of neart, but I've also heard of trean (with an accent somewhere) which would be better for strength?

What about something like: "Coinnigh an misneach" = Keep the faith / stay strong

I don't want a faith or unity one. Just about what's inside you and where you come from making you strong.

I would like to know which word I would use: Neart or Tréan. For unbreakable strength, inner strength. What's the difference between these two?

They're pretty much the same. I'd lean toward "neart" as being somewhat more commonly used.

Also the word Saoirse used -- misneach -- could work. It means "courage/morale/heart."

I have no clue about the grammatical rules here, but I would say in speech "..dó a bheith glic". The a might be lost if speaking quickly, but as far as writing goes I think it's necessary.

Wait for more on that though.

Looking around, there seem to be quite a few words that express various forms of strength -
Here are some suggestions -

strength of mind - daingne intinne
strength of will - rún daingne
by sheer strength - le tréan nirt
a tower/pillar of strength - crann seasta or crann taca

mentally strong - misneach, uchtach
strength of character - dionbháilteach

to go from strength to strength - dul ó neart go neart
willpower - neart tola

Might is Right - Téann ag an neart ar an gceart
Might and Right - An neart agus an ceart

for - inner strength, I suggest - misneach inmheánach or misneach laistigh - but wait for confirmation on that from the others.
