'Canas tá sibhse?

Táim ag léamh an gearrscéal "Praiseach" ar an tsuíomh Nós. Leigh mé ...go bhfuil Praiseach níos oiriúnaí domh ná Pádraig. I'm assuming from the context that this is "dom" but just wanted to make sure it's not a grammatical form of "dom" but an Ulster varriant, is it still pronounced the same way? Abair.ie comes out with "dú" though I've often put words into abair only to find they are actually pronounced differently.

'maith agaibh

Abair.ie is far from perfect. It applies rules without considering exceptions.
"Domh" is the Ulster form of "dom", and it is pronounced [dũ].
But it's weird to have "domh" in the same sentence as "níos oiriúnaí", because "oiriúnach" is not an Ulster word, in Ulster we say "fóirsteanach" instead.
So : níos fóirsteanaí domh.

In Munster Irish, when Dom is suffixed with an emphatic pronoun i.e. domsa, it can be pronouned as /do:sə/.

Otherwise its just pronouned as dom.

I dont know why they do that either Lughaidh, its probably because they learned the CO, but know some dialectal traits, so they stick them in every now and again.

I'm familiar with Munster Irish/ Gaolainn na Mumhan (GM) and the Official Standard/an Caighdeán Oifigiúil (CO)
