I personally just discovered hurling not too long ago, and I absolutely LOVE it! The pace of the game, the athleticism of it... it's just great. When I first learned of it, I watched a few matches on Youtube, and was so impressed that I was compelled to find a live stream for the Kilkenny/Tipperary replay. That was a great match! The Kilkenny backs played some mean defense.

I'm still unsure of when the next season starts (maybe someone here knows), but I'm definitely a fan of the sport now. Does anyone here watch hurling at all?

It's played over the summer. I can't get it on TV here but I used to play with my local club until I got too out of shape.

Oh, and for just watching you can usually find an Irish pub that screens the games -- very expensive license fees, think I paid 20 bucks to watch on TV!!

Summer, got it. I'll keep my eyes on the GAA Youtube channel then. I couldn't imagine trying to play any sort of sport right now. I really need to get back to some sort of exercising as well!

Looks like it's mainly around Chicago, which is 3 hours away. But it looks like there is something in West Lafayette, Indiana which is MUCH closer. I'll have to see what it's like around here.

hurling has been played in the Btonx, NYC for eons thru the spring into fall every Sunday at Gaelic Park

The Championship starts in summer, but the League matches will begin in February, so you won't have TOO long to wait. League matches are normally shown on TG4.

Club-level matches are already underway in most counties. Those games are not normally televised, but the All-Ireland Club Final will be shown on TV on 17th March (St. Patrick's Day).
