Hello, I am new to this forum. I am looking for a correct translation for "Seize the Day" in Irish Gaelic. Thanks in advance for your help.

Tapaigh an deis is what we usually recommend. It literally means "seize/grasp the opportunity" (translating "seize the day" literally into Irish doesn't work very well).

Please wait for at least three to be in agreement.

I'd always prefer sticking to an established phrase even if it means sacrificing the meaning slightly (not that this one does much of that anyway).

I think "tapaigh an deis gach lá" goes beyond the meaning of "seize the day. "Tapaigh an deis" captures the intended meaning of "seize the day" (in other words, grasp the opportunity that is presented), and the implication, used like this, is that it's a life philosophy, which makes "gach lá" redundant.

For the OP, "gach lá" means "every day," so a literal translation of "tapaigh an deis gach lá" would be "seize the opportunity every day."
