My sister and brother-in-law are buying a cottage and I want to carve a sign with a house name on it...would someone please translate the following names into Irish Gaelic for me..."HAPPY ENDING" ... "STORY'S END" ..."ACCOMPLISHMENT"... "HAPPY BEGINNING" ...much appreciated, and if you have any ideas for names, I would appreciate that too...It is a small cottage near the ocean...plumlily aka SUsan

Story's End: Deireadh an Scéil

I'm not sure about translating the others literally. Perhaps one of the more fluent speakers here can weigh in on what would be more natural, native, terms for "Happy Ending" and "Happy Beginning."

Wait for more.

For "Happy Ending", perhaps: Deireadh an Áidh
and then this for "Happy Beginning": Tosach an Áidh or Tús an Áidh

For "Accomplishment", Críochnú could be a literal translation, but that could also be understood as "finished" or "completed".

I have a question myself - could you just pick any of these names and put them on your door, or do you have to grammatically adapt them somehow ("THE happy beginning" or something like that)?

The way we're giving them, you could just put them on your door.
