I just received this text: "Ta do uimhir a rinne an lae inniu buaiteoir sheasur saoire! Cliceail ar http://ie.o00.in a eileamh do thairge saor in aisce!" from number +13104679613 I presume it's a scam of some sort, but the website doesn't seem to exist so not sure what the point is.

Has anyone else come across this?

Yeah, my two younger brothers have received it; I haven't.

I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I obviously hate scams; on the other hand I'm delighted that Irish is mainstream enough to have scams i nGaeilge!

I'd love to know what we all have in common i.e. where they got our numbers. It is clearly something Irish-related, but what?

I got one too. My number isn't on this website so it's not this but it is one that is targeting Irish users, Facebook is the only place I know online that I store my number so my guess is its a group or an app, or someone in a group that has accessed our numbers.

I am. Facebook has my number, but it isn't shown on my profile. I also don't have a smart phone, which I'm guessing these phishing scams are targeting.

I don't think so. I have a smart phone, i haven't got it. Both my brothers got it, and one of their phone's isn't a smart phone.
