A few Christmas phrases -

Thanks to Caoimhín in a previous thread for the list - viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1756&view=previous .

Merry (Happy) Christmas [to you/you all] ===Nollaig Shona [dhuit / dhaoibh]
Happy (Prosperous) New Year [to you/you all] ==Athbhliain faoi [shéan 's faoi] mhaise [dhuit / dhaoibh]
The same to you = Go mbá hé dhuit

Christmas = Nollaig
Christmas time = faoi Nollaig
Christmas Eve = Oíche Nollag (Mhór)
Christmas Day = Lá Nollag
St Stephen's Day = Lá Fhéil‘ Stiofáin
Little Christmas = Lá Nollag Beag
New Year’s Day = Lá chinn bhliana
New Year = Athbhliain / an Bhliain Úr
Epiphany = Lá Chinn an Dá Lá Dhéag
Women’s Christmas = Nollaig na mBan
Christmas Pudding = Putóg na Nollag
Christmas cake = Cáca Nollag :D
Present (gift) = Bronntanas
Christmas stocking = Stoca na Nollag
Holly = Cuileann
Candle(s) = Coinneal / coinnle
Christmas card = Cárta Nollag
Christmas tree = Crann na Nollag
Decorations = maisiúcháin
Father Christmas = Daidí (na) Nollag /Saintí
Baby Jesus = Íosagán
Mary = Muire

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

My "specialty" is Connemara Irish, particularly Cois Fhairrge dialect.
Is fearr Gaeilge ḃriste ná Béarla cliste, cinnte, aċ i ḃfad níos fearr aríst í Gaeilge ḃinn ḃeo na nGaeltaċtaí.
Gaeilge Chonnacht (GC), go háraid Gaeilge Chois Fhairrge (GCF), agus Gaeilge an Chaighdeáin Oifigiúil (CO).
