dia daoibh a chairde, cad é an difríocht idir "tá leabhar uaim" agus "tá leabhar ag teastáil uaim" ? They both mean the same right? is it just the second one is for when some uses "ag teastáil" in the question?

'maith agaibh

Although not as clear-cut as English, I think uaim is more like "I want" and ag teastáil uaim like "I need":

Tá leabhar uaim. "I want a book."
Tá leabhar ag teastáil uaim. "I need a book."

This may simply be a case of the longer phrase being "stronger", of course. There is much more overlap than in English, though, which tends to be more pedantic about it's auxiliary/modal verbs.
