Hello there

I'm running into a lot of confusion with the verb "To Want"

Can anyone help? I have been given a lot of different way of expressing it, and not explained the difference, context, etc. (or if there's any)!
Here are some examples:
Teastionn an leabhair uaim
Teastionn uaim mo chuid oibre a thosu
Ta uaim du abhaile.
I was wondering if anyone could explain these, please? And any other insight is welcome...
Thanks

A lot really does depend on context. If I want to say "I want" as in "I'd like," (as in "I'd like a cup of tea") I'd say "Ba mhaith liom."
If I want to say "I want" as in "I want $15 for that" I'd probably use something like "tá mé ag iarraidh."
Other forms of "want," including versions using "teastaigh" and "de dhíth," I'd read more as "want" as in "need" or "lack."
I don't think there's a lot of difference, meaning-wise, between those two. Definitely wait for others to chime in, however.
