I recall being told many years ago that people who used a h-sound instead of a ch had been taught by a sloppy teacher.
sloppy teachers teach "k" instead of "ch"

If I'm not mistaken that h-sound can be heard in and around Na nDaoine in Donegal (or it was 50 years ago)
where is that?
I know people pronounce broad ch as [h] (when the ch isn't at the beginning of a word, when it's not before t and at the beginning of a few words) in Gweedore, Cloghaneely, Tory and actually, in all the places on the northern side of Gweedore River. And sometimes in Rann na Feirste too, I think.
