I've been looking at this - there seem to be quite a few desserts that are similar to each other -

bread and milk - arán bruite ar bhainne

bread pudding - maróg aráin

bread and butter pudding - maróg aráin agus ime

milk pudding - milsean ar bhainne or maróg bhainne

(I vaguely remember when I was very small, my grandmother gave me for breakfast a soup plate covered with pieces of white bread cut into strips in some warm milk and a little demerera sugar sprinkled over it, I thought it was great and was very happy to tell her so.)

yes, but "Googy" is special one, it is eaten on St. John's Eve in Ireland.
