Monthly magazine for Irish speakers in Ireland and worldwide

Iris mhíosúil do lucht na Gaeilge in Éirinn agus ar fud na cruinne

http://www.beo.ie

For those who may feel a little intimidated by the thoughts of reading this level of Irish, simply put the cursor over a word you do not understand and it will be translated into English for you.

Suíomh iontach é sin, a Shaoirse. An excellent site for beginners and advanced learners alike.

And if anyone has any questions about the idioms and grammar they see at Beo, feel free to come here and ask us for an explanation. We'll try our best to help you work out what they mean. :darklaugh:

Cad is brí an frasai sin?

"Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste, cinnte, ach i bhfad níos fearr aríst Gaeilge bhinn bheo na nGaeltachtaí"

Ní thuigim.

Slán anois,
Faber

Looks like it's better broken Gaeilge than clever English, sure, but way better again sweet Gaeilge live than the Gaeltachts. don't know if I understand this correctly.

Better broken Irish than clever English, but much better again the sweet, living Irish of the Gaeltachts.

At least, that's what I intended it to mean - the phrase was never officially checked by anyone.

Put the cursor over the words with the dotted lines underneath and the English translation should appear.
