Hello, everyone!

I want to get a new tattoo. The sentence is "Everything happens for a reason". I was thinking about it and I tought make this tattoo in Irish language could be a great idea, but I don't know so much about it and I don't want to be wrong, sooo...

Is this sentence the correct one? "Tarlaíonn chuile ar chúis éigin".

Or maybe this one? "Tharlaíonn gach rud ar chúis éigin".

Or...? "Tá fáth ag gach rud".

Maybe none of them is fine. Could you tell me the correct one?

I'd say:

Tá fáth le gach rud. "There is a reason for everything." (CO)

(Well actually I'd say Tá fáth le chuile shórt (GC), but that's dialect.)

Await further input ...

No, chuile is an adjective (or rather two adjectives < "gach uile"), so a noun is missing, e.g. chuile rud = everything (= gach uile rud, gach rud)

better

Shouldn't it be Tarlaíonn gach rud ar chúis éigin. ?

This literally says "Everything happens for some (indeterminate) reason.", since éigin = éiginnte = é "not" + cinnte "certain".

I'm inclined to want to change the adjective to áirithe or ar leith:

Tarlaíonn gach rud ar chúis áirithe.
"Everything happens for a particular reason."

Tarlaíonn gach rud ar chúis ar leith.
"Everything happens for a special reason."

Await further input ...

So? Thanks for the answer, but now I have a doubt. Which one is better? "Tharlaíonn gach rud ar chúis éigin" or "Tá fáth le gach rud" ?

Good point.

I don't mean to distract, and I don't have any criticism of the offered translations, they all seem good to me, but I wanted to pose the following question:

Tá fáth le gach rud
or
Bíonn fáth le gach rud
?

I am not trying to hijack your thread but I have an issue, I believe, with using "bíonn" more often than necessary. If anyone could give an explanation on why the first would be preferable to the second I would really appreciate it.

Someone told me that's the right option... Is it? "Tharlaíonn gach rud ar chúis". What do you think?
